The sales started in Belgium today, but with that horrible wind and rain I’d rather stay inside, plus: online there’s always a sale going on! And you could even shop while at work, although it’s far from me to advise doing this if you want to advance in your career.
Today I’ll tell you a bit about some of my favorite online shopping fashion websites. The first (and also one of the oldest) is Yoox, where I found this beautiful Dries Van Noten cardigan for 160 €, down from 320 € – and even that is lower than in ‘real’ stores. Yoox sells clothes, shoes and accessories from earlier seasons but as long as that year isn’t embroidered on the sleeve, who cares? For those who prefer their clothes to be season fresh, I advise the little sister/brother of Yoox, The Corner: here you’ll find the edgiest pieces from designers such as Ann Demeulemeester, Haider Ackermann, Rick Owens and Bernhard Willhelm, who designed the purple leggings you see pictured here (54 €, down from 108 €)
My favorite site nowadays is The Outnet, chock full of designer goodies, most of them overstock from Net-à-Porter, that has the same owners but is a lot more expensive. Once you subscribe you’ll get regular update alerts, also available via Twitter. Today I saw this cute wool-mix top by Marni, down to 41 € from 168 €. That’s what I call a bargain!
Another site that sends alerts -every day in this case- is My Habit, to which you have to be invited by a member, but once you are in…wahey! I buy most of my Current-Elliott jeans there, such as the pair you see on the photo, down to 66 $ from 228$. My Habit charges shipping costs -as most international shopping sites do- and also calculates what you’ll have to pay to customs and for import duty from the US, so you’ll have no nasty surprises when your parcel arrives.
Swedish brands are expanding at a good rate now and we love what they have to offer, as most is stylish and made from good fabrics. Two great labels are Monki and COS , who both now have an online store that also ships to Belgium. Chez Monki I chose a sailor striped T-shirt as that trend isn’t going anywhere soon and also, it costs just 10 €, down from 25 €. And as COS is so strong in dresses, I wanted to show you this degradé wool dress, just 45€, down from 89€.
See? Shopping from home is fun! You can try everything on in the privacy of your own bedroom (bliss!) and if it doesn’t fit or you don’t like how it looks on you, simply send it back- the costs for that are usually paid by the web store. Wishing you happy and stress free shopping!
